Helping farmers secure finance might not sound like the most creative career, but for Sophie Wood, it's the perfect mix of strategy, storytelling and relationships.

As the Marketing Manager for Sprout Agribusiness, Sophie supports a growing team that provides financial solutions to farmers and agribusinesses across Australia. From major lending opportunities and equipment finance through to strategic advisory, succession planning and home lending, Sprout Ag works alongside farming families to help them plan for the future.

Since joining Sprout Ag last year, Sophie has become the central marketing resource for a business that now spans offices across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

"No two days are ever the same," Sophie says. "One day I'm planning our annual conference, the next I'm launching a campaign for a new team member, or coordinating an event with one of our regional offices for our client seminars."

While every office has its own local team, Sophie works across the entire business, supporting staff with marketing, events, branding, digital communications and business development initiatives.

"It's really rewarding. Our Partners and Senior Agribusiness Managers build relationships in their communities, and I'm there to support them with the tools and marketing to help them succeed."

Although Sprout's services extend across Australia, Sophie says agriculture remains an industry built on trust.

"Relationships are everything and Sprout Ag is built on trust. Farmers place enormous value on trust, and that's what we have built our reputation on."

That same sense of connection is something Sophie has found at DPARTMNT.

Sprout Ag first joined DPARTMNT several years ago with a four-person office in The Block. As the business continued to grow, so did the team, eventually expanding into a larger space at The Store.

"It's been fantastic that we've been able to grow without having to leave," Sophie says. "As our team has expanded, DPARTMNT has been able to adapt and accommodate us."

For someone who describes herself as a chatterbox, the community at DPARTMNT is one of the biggest advantages.

"I love coming into the office. Even on days when I'm the only one from Sprout Ag here, there's always someone to have a coffee with or a chat in the kitchen."

Working alongside professionals from different industries has also given Sophie something she wasn't expecting.

"Sometimes you just need to bounce an idea off someone who understands. There are other marketers here, health professionals, business owners and consultants. Everyone brings a different perspective, and those conversations are incredibly valuable. That's a real testament to what Sam has built at DPARTMNT."
